How to Sell on eMAG Marketplace
Account, documents, listings, stock and returns — what the process actually involves, what it costs, and where new sellers lose money.

eMAG is the largest marketplace in Romania, which makes it the fastest route to online customers for most Romanian businesses. It is also a platform with strict rules, and the sellers who struggle are almost always the ones who treated the rules as optional.
Step 1: the seller account and the documents
You register as a business, not a person. eMAG asks for company documents, bank details and, depending on your category, product certifications and authorisations.
This is where most delays happen — not because the requirements are unreasonable, but because they are specific. Gather them before starting rather than mid-application.
- eMAG Marketplace setup — €100
- Account verification support — €100 per platform
- Document preparation support — €100 per platform
Step 2: your shop page
Your seller page is a small shop front: logo, banner, company description. It costs €100 to brand properly and it affects whether a hesitant buyer clicks “add to cart” on your offer or scrolls to the next seller.
Step 3: the product listings
Each product needs a title built to eMAG’s format, images that meet their requirements, a description, a price and a stock figure. Products join existing product pages where one already exists, which means you are often competing on the same page.
- First 50 products — €100
- Additional products — €2 each
- Marketplace product description — €2 each
- Image editing to platform rules — €2 each
Two points that decide a lot:
- Your title format matters more than your writing style. The platform’s search reads structure.
- Images that fail their rules silently reduce visibility. It is worth doing once, properly.
Step 4: stock and price, kept correct
This is the part that quietly determines whether selling on eMAG is profitable.
If your stock figure is wrong, you cancel orders. Cancelled orders damage your seller rating, and a damaged rating loses you the position on the product page — which is the whole point of being there.
- Stock updates — from €150
- Price updates — from €150
- Stock synchronisation with your own store — €290
If you sell on more than one channel, automatic synchronisation stops being a luxury within a few weeks.
Step 5: orders, delivery and returns
Orders arrive with delivery expectations. A courier connected properly creates the shipping document automatically, which removes both the typing and the typing mistakes.
- Courier connection — €250–290
- Automatic AWB — €150
- Marketplace order management — from €290/month
- Returns management — from €190/month
Returns are part of the model. Handle them quickly and your rating survives; handle them slowly and it does not.
Step 6: promotion inside the platform
Once your listings are correct, paid promotion inside eMAG puts your products higher in its own search. Setup from €200. Do this after the listings are right, not before — promoting a weak listing simply costs more per sale.
What it costs to be there
Beyond our setup fees, remember what goes to the platform and not to us:
- eMAG’s commission on each order
- any promotion budget you spend inside the platform
- courier charges
We never include those in our prices, and no one honestly can — they depend on your category, your volume and your negotiated terms.
Where new sellers lose money
- Listing everything. Start with products you can keep in stock reliably.
- Ignoring the rating. It is the ranking factor you control most directly.
- Manual stock. It works for a month, then it does not.
- Competing only on price. On a shared product page, delivery speed and rating decide as much as price does.
A realistic start
Account, branding, documents, fifty products with descriptions and image editing, a courier connection and stock updates lands around €700–€900 one-time, plus monthly operation if you want us to run it. That is a small entry cost for access to the largest customer base in the country — provided the operational side is actually maintained.
